DESCRIPTION
The catacombs of Paris (les carrières de Paris) are located in Roman limestone quarries, which were converted into mass tombs towards the end of the eighteenth century. The subterranean tunnels span close to 300km. The term cataphiles, is given to those who illegally enter the catacombs through such means as manhole covers, and the cataflics are the special police who patrol it.
